Engineered Communities (March 4)
Engineered Community was a one-day coordinated meeting for lower-division engineering educators, primarily from community colleges throughout Oregon and SW Washington, although representatives from various four-year institutions also would attend. It was first held in 1997 at Portland Community College, Sylvania Campus, but has not met for the last two years. This is intended to be a focused meeting of people teaching and admistering lower division engineering curriculum working on a specific agenda.. At this meeting, participation is limited to those familiar with the lower division curricula (currently teaching and advising students and actively working on transfer issues). However,. one of the goals for the meeting is to establish a process through which we can meet twice a year.
